Police in Luzerne County were busy overnight investigating two break-ins at two small businesses just a few miles apart from each other. One of the break-ins happened at a golf course in Exeter, where money was stolen from a cash register.

Moonlite Drive-In plans one step closer

The Luzerne County Zoning Hearing Board approved a use variance at a meeting last week that Eric Symeon of Exeter needed to reopen the theater on Shoemaker Avenue in West Wyoming.

A Carbondale man who drunkenly drove the wrong way for more than 4 miles on Interstate 81 before crashing and killing another man pleaded guilty to three charges Monday. Exeter man pleads guilty to injuring child while drunk

An Exeter man who police say was falling-down drunk when he dropped a 4-year-old boy to the sidewalk fracturing the child's skull pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated assault charges. Robert Smith, 24, of 1100 Slocum Ave., dropped the boy head-first on a sidewalk after missing a catch while playfully tossing him in the air, according to police.
